Our Story

It started with a TI-99 in the '80s

We're Darlene and Rusty Ballard — nerds from the day our first home computer arrived. Our first business was computer repair, and every bit of its marketing was done in-house: testing, learning, and implementing SEO the hard way, with nothing but Google's own best-practice guide. Soon BallardComputer.com was ranking at the top of Google for computer repair, and our neighborhood knew who to call.

Then the 2008 downturn hit, and businesses around us started going under. Friends asked the same question again and again: "How is your website always on the first page?" So we showed them. We put their businesses through the same process, watched their rankings climb — and their phones started ringing. Some of them called just to tell us they'd been able to rehire the employees they'd laid off.

That feeling is why Digital Max Agency was born in 2014, and it's why we still do this. Today we've ranked hundreds of businesses — home-service contractors especially — and we're bringing the same honest, tested approach to AI: Maxine answering phones, missed calls texted back, calendars that fill while you sleep.
